Zanzibar
The main island of Zanzibar is the archipelago’s focal point and with good reason. Historic Stone Town is one of Africa’s most evocative locations, with a mesmerizing mix of influences from the Indian subcontinent, the Arabian Peninsula, the African mainland and Europe. As you venture outside of Stone Town you will find rural villages along the coastline to compliment the endless spectacular white sand beaches.
In Stone Town you can visit some of the famous historic sites such as the House of Wonders, The Palace Museum, Dr. Livingstone’s house, and the Arab Fort. You can also visit the local market and there will be plenty of opportunities to stock up on local handcrafts and exotic spices. Exploring the narrow alleyways of Stone Town is like a journey back in time.
Beach lovers rejoice. Zanzibar has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Soak up the rays and reflect on your African Safari trip or maybe catch up on that good book you brought. The best beaches in Zanzibar can be found in the northern part of the large island.
